Today In Sociology

My teacher said there are theories suggesting we are going to be the first generation to take half a step down instead of half a step above our parents. Does that make any sense? Sometimes I feel so small like I'm drowning in a puddle. I don't know what to do and apparently neither does anyone else. Anyways, the clues must be deciphered and I will journey forth.
